This event was orgamnised on 22nd July 2014. Five gram panchayat sarpach's joined the event. Bank manager of Bank of Baroda also joined the event. 22 wadi tukdi members and the CEO of GEMKS joined the event. Purpose of the event was to discuss the problems and issues of the farmers of the area and shared best practices and learnings.. |

This is an initiative for smooth functioning of the developmental progarmmes in the villages and the village development committees, which also act as watchdog of program implementation, oversee all the matters pertaining to the development of the villages. GMKS has formed several village development committees such as Nirman Samittees (Construction Committees), Jal Samittees (Water Committees) & Forest Development Committees.
Village Development Committees function in several villages
to attain the specific purposes and goals of the
development of the region. These committees take
all responsibilities of the community participation
in the work. These committees in close association
with GMKS staff members select sites for physical
work and set the priorities of the development
workswhat is to be executed and what is not on
the basis of the needs of the villagers.
These
committees create employment opportunities for
the poor villagers in the region and on rotation
basis; they give chance to each and every household
member for managing a decent livelihood in the
village. The committees don't deploy pregnant
women, elderly people and children as a labour
in the physical work.
A
Village Development Committee is represented by
10 members, two male and one female are taken
in the committee from each fala (small village).
Unlike a Village Development Committee, each Nirman
Samiti or Jal Samiti has seven members in total.
Each member is elected by the villagers in village
meeting.
